Short Courses

Trade Specific

Future Skills Sandwell offer a variety of short courses in Bricklaying, Carpentry, Kitchen/Bathroom Fitting, Painting & Decorating and Plastering, which are aimed at local employers, Job Centres and other training organisations.

The main aim of the short courses is to multi-skill employees and offer “tasters” to those intending to re-train.

• Our short courses have been designed to teach the basic skills of each trade.
• Courses can last between one day and two weeks (or longer if necessary) depending upon the learners/employers requirements.
• Courses are designed and custom built for different groups of learners.
• Courses are either certified “in-house” certificates or can lead to Accredited Awards (full or units towards).

Health and Safety:

• Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
• Foundation Certificate in Health and Safety in the Workplace (1 day)
• Principles of COSHH (½ day)
• Principles of Manual Handling (½ day) 

First Aid:

• Emergency First Aid at Work (1 day)
• First Aid at Work Refresher (2 days)
• First Aid at Work 3 year Certificate (4 days)
